Why Lindsey Graham Must Go - Part 2

Senator Lindsey Graham belongs to the same Republican Party that his Senate counterpart Jim DeMint belongs to, but the two men could not be farther apart when it comes to which direction this nations should go.

Sen. DeMint is a conservative, through and though.  He has spent time and money doing what he can to promote, fund, and elect conservatives to the Senate this mid-term election.  DeMint also embraces the Tea Parties and realizes, as he said,
"The Tea Party is just the tip of the iceberg of an American awakening of people that want to take back their government."
What did Graham have to say about the Tea Parties?   Basically, he wants nothing to do with them.  In fact, you can see his disdain for the Tea Parties in his comments a few days ago,
“The problem with the Tea Party, I think it’s just unsustainable because they can never come up with a coherent vision for governing the country. It will die out.” Now he said, in a tone of casual lament: “We don’t have a lot of Reagan-type leaders in our party. Remember Ronald Reagan Democrats? I want a Republican that can attract Democrats.” Chortling, he added, “Ronald Reagan would have a hard time getting elected as a Republican today.”
Maybe he's just cranky because his buddy Bob Bennett didn't make it out of the primary in Utah.  Or maybe he's just upset that another buddy in Florida - Charlie Crist - will lose to Marco Rubio in Florida.  Maybe it's because yet another friend - Arlen Specter - also didn't make it through the primary, as a Democrat (again).

Maybe we can't get a Ronald Reagan elected because of Senators like Lindsey Graham who routinely (along with John McCain) "reaches across the aisle".  Or in other words, Senators like Lindsey Graham that routinely sell our souls to the devil.  For instance, what part of Cap and Trade is even remotely appealing to conservatives and most Americans alike?  Nothing, but Graham negotiated a "compromise" with Sen. Chuckie Schumer to come up with a new Cap and Trade bill.  Same thing with immigration reform.  Graham is a chief sponsor/author of a bill that would in essence be Dream Act III (the two previous having failed miserably to pass Congress).  The devil doesn't need to go to Georgia to look for a soul to steal, he just needs to walk into Sen. Graham's office in Washington DC.

Graham is hoping that the Tea Parties fade away for different reasons than I want to see the Tea Parties fade away.  I want to see the Tea Parties fade away because government started listening, politicians started caring, and the country as a whole gets back to reality.  I want to see the Tea Parties fade away because spending is kept in check, government power is kept in check, and less people are receiving a government check.  I want to see the Tea Parties fade away because our rights stay protected, our borders are secure, and our children have a bright future ahead of them.  Lindsey Graham wants the Tea Parties to fade away because it is politically damaging to him and his liberal friends.

We're here to stay Senator, whether you like it or not and we'll be coming for your seat next time you are up for re-election - Bob Bennett style.
