Schools or Re-education Camps?
From a song called Santa Goes Green:
Let me tell you a story of a day not long ago,
I was growing in a forest of Rio De Janeiro,
I was cool, I was relaxed, I was growing branches but,
everything went south when my friends were clear-cut (Gasp!).
Something was wrong and I suspect
I got caught up in the Greenhouse Effect.
Ride a bike, take a hike, recycle all your mail.
Avoid fast food or maybe you'd adopt a humpback whale.
Advocate or insulate, accumulate less stuff
A compost pile makes a reindeer smile, green.
The colors of the season make everything so bright
with gold and silver lining shining in the night
The magic of this holiday is showing that you care,
Let's celebrate for hope is everywhere.
You have got to be kidding me! Where's the traditional Christmas songs? Oh no, we have to indoctrinate the youth and use jolly ol St. Nick as a propaganda tool for the environmentalist lobby. The ACLU and other liberal groups have hijacked our children's' Christmas memories. When they look back at their school years, they're going to remember scolding Santa about his Sport Utility Sleigh. We can't have the story of Mary and Joseph because the left has decided that God and school should have nothing to do with each other despite Jesus coming to teach us the most important lessons in life. Parents have every right to be outraged at this sick portrayal of a Christmas program. I wouldn't be half surprised if whoever wrote this tripe of a Christmas play was endowed by Al Gore and his global green money making machine. We can't have Christ in the schools, but by God, we'll stand in line for 5 hours in subzero temperatures on Black Friday to get our kids a copy of the newest Grand Theft Auto or Metal Gear 4. Fake sex, with prostitutes, drugs, and killing is great, but learning or honoring Christ, whom the holiday is named after and celebrated for and who preached against those things found in those games, that's a no-no and will earn most school districts a lawsuit for their efforts.
Edmond Burke, the father of conservatism and inspiration for this site, believed that each generation is beholden to the previous generation. That includes the values and traditions of the previous generations. What the left doesn't understand - and they'll drag out court cases and Jeffersonian Dover letters - is that this country was founded on Judeo-Christian values. Why else is God or the Creator mentioned in our Founding documents or chiseled into marble and granite all over Washington DC, including in the courtroom of US Supreme Court? I wish there was a study done to see if there is a correlation between corruption and crime between the infamous "separation of church and state" edict by the US Supreme Court and now.
The assault on our children doesn't stop with Christmas. Now, the History Channel - which barely lives up to the channel's name - is pushing The People Speak series focused on teaching kids the "real" history of America. Narrated by numerous limousine liberals such as Josh Brolin, Matt Damon, and Marisa Tome, this documentary is based off a book by Howard Zinn. Who is Howard Zinn? I'm glad you asked! Howard Zinn is a unapologetic socialist. Take a look at some Zinn quotes as posted on Big Hollywood (an Andrew Breitbart site):
*Regarding America’s separation from Great Britain, Zinn writes:“Around 1776, certain important people in the English colonies … found that by creating a nation, a symbol, a legal unity called the United States, they could take over land, profits, and political power from the favorites of the British Empire.“
*Zinn describes antebellum America as a uniquely cruel slaveholding society whose goal was subjugating man for profit. On the other hand, the war of the Union against the slaveholding system is portrayed in exactly the same terms: “It is money and profit, not the movement against slavery that was uppermost in the priorities of the men who ran the country.”
*The same explanation is given for America’s entry into World War I: “American capitalism needed international rivalry — and periodic war — to create an artificial community of interest between rich and poor.”
*According to Zinn, it was America and not Japan that was to blame for Pearl Harbor. The fight against fascism, he says, was a manipulated illusion to conceal America’s real goals, which were empire and money: “Quietly, behind the headlines in battles and bombings,American diplomats and businessmen worked hard to make sure that when the war ended, American economic power would be second to none in the world. United States business would penetrate areas that up to this time had been dominated by England. The Open Door Policy of equal access would be extended from Asia to Europe, meaning that the United States intended to push England aside and move in.“
Zinn, however, has high praise for fellow Marxists around the world: Maoist China is “the closest thing, in the long history of that ancient country, to a people’s government, independent of outside control”; Castro’s Cuba “had no bloody record of suppression”; and the Marxist dictators of Nicaragua were “welcomed” by the people, while the opposition Contras, whose candidate triumphed when free elections were held as a result of U.S. pressure, were a “terrorist group” that “seemed to have no popular support inside Nicaragua.” - Discoverthenetworks.org.The Board of Directors, advisers, teacher consultants, and others associated with this project are ALL socialists, radical leftists or somewhere in between. Pam Meister writing at Big Hollywood does a fantastic job researching who these people are. The saddest part of this entire story is that Social Studies teachers who are sympathetic to this kind of historical dribble will DVR or order the DVDs of this series to show to their students in the classroom. And the vicious circle of teaching American self-hatred and planting the seeds of group and economic conflict will continue for another generation.
