Patrick Hughes For Senate
As many of you know, the health care bill has passed the House and has been handed off to the Senate. The fight is far from being over. Joe Lieberman (RI-I) has said he will filibuster, with the GOP, if there is a public option in Senate version of the health care bill. We must keep the pressure on Congress to listen to the people.
There are many other issues that will be in front of the Senate this year including Cap and Tax, Employee Free Choice Act(Card Check), and most likely, immigration reform (Dream Act III). We cannot let the open Senate seat in 2010 fall to the wrong person.
We know that Alexi Giannoulias (D) has been President Obama's protoge and will continue in the path that Senators Dick Durbin and Roland Burris have laid out. He would continue the reckless spending, the increasing debt, weak dollar, weak defense, Cap and Tax, etc. that the liberal/socialists in the Senate and House have been doing. So at least the Republican "front runner" candidate Rep. Mark Kirk will be the conservative we are looking for right?
WRONG!!!
Rep.Mark Kirk voted FOR Cap and Tax, is pro-choice, is pro-gay agenda, voted for the revised Federal Hate Crimes bill that extended protection to homosexuals but not our own military, and is an establishment candidate. We simply cannot trust Mark Kirk to cast his votes in our best interests as Illinoisans or Americans.
Who can we support then?
Dr. Eric Wallace has dropped out of the Senate race to prevent the conservative vote from splitting. He also knows that Mark Kirk is not what Illinois or America needs. There are a few other candidates in the Senate race like Don Tracy, Robert Zadek, Kathleen Thomas, John Arrington, Tom Kuna, and Andy Martin. While many of these candidates are good conservatives, they are polling horribly, lack funds and simply cannot beat Mark Kirk. It's nothing against these candidates, but there is one candidate in the race already that has the conservative credentials and the ability to beat Mark Kirk. His name is Patrick Hughes.
Patrick Hughes is a conservative candidate that we and others can rally around and beat Mark Kirk. Kirk is Illinois' Dede Scozzafava, Hughes is our Doug Hoffman. Hughes is for limited government, less spending, respecting the Constitution, lower taxes, pro-life, pro-2nd amendment, tough on illegal immigration and is AGAINST Cap and Tax. Reagan-like if I must say. These are also the values that Tea Partiers have rallied around and the kind of candidate we have been waiting for to help lead Illinois and our country back to prosperity and respecting the vision of our Founding Fathers.
If you would like to meet Patrick Hughes for yourself, on Friday November 13th Patrick Hughes will be in Effingham touring a few factories and will be at the American Legion Hall downtown Effingham (200 W. Washington Ave) at 6pm to meet and greet voters and answer any questions you may have about his candidacy for Senate or the issues he stands for. There is no cost and I would encourage you to try to make the trip and show Patrick Hughes the support he needs to first take down Mark Kirk in February, and then take down Alexi Giannoulias in November 2010!!!
If you have any questions, or after meeting Patrick Hughes you would like yard signs, please do not hesitate to email me at downstateiladvocate@yahoo.com!
Thank you and I hope to see you on Friday!

You could at least spell the true conservative candidates name right - it is Judge Don Lowery! Who also has served this country all of his life and voted more than one time - which means he voted from 1988-2004 the times that Hughes had the opportunity to vote but chose not to - Hughes only thought it was necessary to vote in 2008? Not even after 9/11??? Hughes is an opportunist - that is being used by more Chicago politics to "try" to fool the true conservatives. He thinks that the tea party/9-12ers are just a fringe group that make up less than 5% of the voters and won't have an impact. Are we really awake and paying attention? Or are we getting duped again? If you're serious about reform in IL and DC - look at Lowery!

No, I got the spelling right - Patrick Hughes.
I don't have anything against Judge Lowery, but I feel Hughes has a better shot at defeating Kirk.
I see your voting record, and raise you campaign cash. Does Lowery think the 2,000 or so dollars cash on hand is going to make a dent in the race versus Kirk's 2 million? See for yourself.
Also, if you're going to spread rumor and innuendos, please at least site where you heard it from so others can do their own research. Just about everything I post on here (outside of personal stories or experience) I site my information. I've heard things about the different candidates including Kirk and Lowery, but if I can't find supporting evidence or evidence from more than one source then I keep my mouth shut - I don't post it, and I don't spread it offline either.

So would it be better if Lowery donated $250,000 of his own money to his campaign like Hughes did? I believe Lowery felt he didn't want to waste tax payers money by donating to a candidate if he didn't have enough petitions. But now that the petitions are filed, he should be doing fundraising.
Funny you should ask where I heard the comments I posted. Which "rumor" are you talking about? The one that came from Hughes mouth? Or the one that came from the Voter Vault? All it takes is a FOIA form to find out his voting record and Hughes proved the other comment by not bothering to show up for any tea party/9-12 events. As far as keeping "my mouth shut" - I do believe that I still have 1st Amendment rights, just like you ...

I couldn't agree more about this state being in dire need of a conservative. I want one that has the experience and the know how to do something about where this country is headed. Therefore, I am a firm believer there is only one man the holds all the qualifications necessary to accomplish this. His name is Judge Don Lowery. He served his country in the Army winning a Bronze Star for his heroic actions in Vietnam and sat on the 1ST Judicial District for 26 years.
I've spoken with him several times via the phone and plan on seeing him this Saturday in Springfield for the Senatorial debate
