Nobody likes to have egg on their face and that goes double for the mainstream media.  Why else do you think the MSM are going after the Balloon family so hard?  They were embarrassed by covering the story for over half a day only for it to turn out to be hoax.  Remember Geraldo and Capone's empty vault?  Hoaxes are serious damage to credible journalists and news agencies.  So what happens when someone the MSM had/has propped up and helped get elected throws a little egg on their faces?

So exactly what is the difference between the Balloon family and the Obama campaign/administration?  Both have now admitted that they controlled the media.  One is going down in flames and is facing serious charges.  The other?  Well, we'll have to see what happens. 

I'd be willing to bet that Anita Hunn gets a good talking to because as much as Obama, Rahm, and Axelrod have complained about the conservative media and Fox News, Hunn just gave Beck, Hannity, and Rush a week's worth of programming.  Bet we don't see her on TV anytime soon.

So what will the MSM do?  They're in a bit of a pickle.  On one hand, they love the liberal/socialist policies coming out of the White House and Congress, but on the other hand, Hunn just made fools of them.  Hunn openly admits that the media didn't do their job of investigating Obama's campaign issues and by default, his background.  Instead, the MSM happily spewed Obama's message without question.  And Hunn admits that the whole tactic was completely orchestrated!  On top of that, it seems that Obama and Michelle both seemed to insist that Hunn and others do something about the bad press they were receiving resulting in Fightthesmears.com and other media control initiatives.  I also wonder what Media Matters will have to say.  The so-called fact checking, left wing snake charmers over there fell into the trap also. 

Finally, how will the media handle the health care debate now that they have been called to the mat?  Fresh off of smearing Limbaugh and bilking him of an business opportunity, will the MSM tote the line of the White House?  Ideology vs. pride and ego.  Which one wins?  Whatever happens, Hunn will placed somewhere she can do no harm - maybe a fact finding mission with Joe Biden to Antarctica?  The White House will end up placating the MSM editors and chiefs by dropping support for the Federal Shield Law and by holding yet another prime time press conference where he will take some "tough" questions.  After the White House and the media kiss and make up, it'll be back to business as usual of misleading the public, ignoring the Constitution, and finding someway to still blame Bush for everything.
