Conservatism on the March

The news today shows Gordon Brown's Labour Party running third in national polling in England, and elections are set to take place as early as May 6th.  The Conservative Party is currently polling in 1st place.  That spells trouble for Gordon Brown.  Brown's spending policies have been similar to Obama's and have had similar effects.  If you ever get a chance to watch the Prime Minister Questions on C-Span, please do so.  Not only is it entertaining, but it's also educational to what issues are facing our British friends.  The Conservative Party wishes to roll back the spending, cut taxes and get business going again in England.

Now, lets look at Germany.  Angela Merkel just won pretty handedly allowing a coalition with the Free Democrats (essentially conservative) that will seek less regulations and tax cuts.  The SPD party (essentially Nancy Pelosi type liberal) has lost it's influence over the coalition government and will now have to basically take a backseat as Merkel and the Free Democrats pursue economic recovery.

Finally, let's turn to here at home.  Conservative Marco Rubio is starting to make head way against Charlie Crist for the Florida Senate seat.  Here in Illinois, US Senate candidate Pat Hughes is also starting make a move against the RINO Rep. Mark Kirk.  Fred Thompson, Club for Growth, and the Susan B. Anthony List has all endorsed Doug Hoffman - Conservative Party candidate - over the GOP RINO candidate Dede Scozzafava.

If there is one thing that we should learn from all this is that the Republican National and State leadership should seriously think about which direction the Republicans should go.  Liberalism does not work and should be fought against tooth and nail.  More people identify as being conservative than identify as Republican, Independent or Democrat.  More people identify themselves as conservative in ALL 50 STATES according to a nationwide poll.  And if the success of the tea parties doesn't drive home the point of the conservative nature of the electorate, then our party leaders on both sides of the aisle are truly deaf or are only in it for themselves.
