Which Party Favors The Rich?
It has long been held in believe by those in the media and the left that the right defends the rich and cares nothing for the poor. The left says that tax cuts favor the rich and therefore expands the gap between the rich and the poor. Slashing business taxes equals the same. Opposing the health care reform bill, HR 3200 in particular, shows that the right is in bed with pharmaceuticals and insurance companies - read: the rich. But lets take a look at the policies of the left.
Health care reform - the version that the left is proposing would create two classes of citizens, those that are rich enough to afford private insurance, and those that can only afford the "public option". This is an obvious increase of the gap between the haves, and have nots.
Protective tariffs - Protecting unions to "level the playing field" actually hurts American business in the long run. In fact, China is considering retaliatory tariffs on US cars and agriculture. So the left saves some rich (and the unions do have some SERIOUS money) unions' jobs, and hurts the American farmer. The American farmer is not exactly a wealthy upper class citizen, but work hard for every dollar they earn.
EFCA - Again, the left supports their rich union backers. If card-check passes, we'll be worrying more about keeping our jobs than whether you'll be unionized the next day you go to work. Businesses will look at their fees, taxes and costs from labor, and decide they can make more by moving to Mexico and utilizing NAFTA to make money minus the union and tax headache. Rich stay rich, we lose our jobs get poorer.
Illegal immigration - Amazing that the party that tried to keep the slaves is also the party that likes the idea of economic slaves - read: illegal migrant workers. Having a permanent underclass gives the left another demographic to promise the moon to. Meanwhile, our wages stagnate or drop and in certain parts of the country health care/hospitals are overwhelmed because of illegal immigration. Once again, increasing the gap between the rich and the poor.
Cap and Trade - we lose our jobs as business moves overseas to countries with less stringent environmental laws and where carbon credits are not traded on the open market. Al Gore gets to profit as his green-companies grow. T. Boone Pickens makes a profit as his wind farms finally take root. As for the rest of us, our power consumption will plummet as our power gets shut off because we lost our jobs and we can't afford to pay the electric bill. It's ok though, we'll make fires with the worthless money we have because inflation has turned us into the Wiemar Republic.
Every step of the way, the left will increase government programs to extend or patch the holes in the society safety net. This will allow the left to capture more of the electorate blinded by their plight, unable to see who actually caused their pain. So which side has a vested interest in a gap between the rich and poor? Which side is interested in protecting their ideological similar rich?
