Did He Just Say What I Thought He Just Said???
Yogi Bera was famous for making statements that made your head hurt trying to figure out what he said like "It's like deja vu all over again". And there's plenty more where that came from. I don't know if Vice President Joe Biden is related to Yogi, but they sure have the same way with words. The scary part is one is one heartbeat away from the Presidency and the other was a baseball player.
"We have to go spend money to keep from going bankrupt" was Joe at his best. Saying stupid things must be a religion with him. So using Joeism in my own speech I figured a few words of good advice would be in order:
"Swallow more water so you won't drown"
"Stop making your loan payments so you won't have another bill to pay"
"If you're on fire, DON'T stop, drop, and roll, you're only inhibiting the fire from doing it's job"
"Change we can believe in"
Back to ole Joe's quote, this is what the Obama administration is all about. Deficit spending. If you don't believe that John Maynard Keynes's economic policies that FAILED in the 1930s are in full effect now, then I suggest you keep your head buried in the sand, because it's going to get much worse.
Why is it when the average American spends more than he or she can afford, they eventually have to stop and either declare bankruptcy or cut their spending, but when government does it, it's what's best for the economy.
And if Joe's earlier statement doesn't make your head hurt, here's one from the other day about the $787 billion stimulus package "It's working." I know of one thing that isn't working - Joe Biden's inner voice telling him to keep quiet before he gets himself fired.
