You Scratch My Back....

For 8 years, we heard people complain about George W. and Halliburton, and George W. and Big Oil in general.  George W. deserves plenty of criticism but I question where are those "conspiracy" theorists now regarding our current President?

1.  Unions donated massive amounts of money to the Obama campaign.  Now, the UAW owns most of one car company and part of another.  Plus, our tax dollars now help cover their pension plans.  Bankruptcy would have meant that everything the UAW received would be renegotiable - not in the UAW's interest to do.

2.  Unions will most likely be exempted from the health care tax floating around DC right now.

3.  Unions are getting their way with support for EFCA.

4.  Environmentalist lobbies campaigned and donated massive amounts of time and money in supporting Obama and those that are in control of Congress.  Cap and Trade passes the House of Representatives.  No criticism of jobs lost or business costs.  The Environmental lobby is the the new Big Oil lobby.

5.  Obama has rewarded coveted ambassadorships to large campaign donors.  Standard practice by his predecessors also, but this is from a man that promised to end such practices of crony politics and promised transparency.  No criticism given.

And now there's this:

Loophole Helps GE Benefit from Bank Rescue Program

GE is led by CEO Jeffrey Immult, whose company owns NBC.  NBC's President is Jeff Zucker.  Now you and I both know that NBC is no critic of Obama and his policies.  In fact, Immult and Zucker have gone out of their way to skew their coverage of the news.  Now, GE gets their back scratched by the federal government.

So, I ask you again.  Where are the George W./Halliburton/Big Oil critics now that the shoe is on the other foot????
