Let's take a spin around the room and look at Illinois political leaders:

Gov. Quinn - Chicago

Illinois Comptroller - Chicago
Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan - Chicago
Illinois Treasurer - Giannoulias - Chicago
Majority Leader - E. St. Louis!!! (James Claybourne Jr.)
All 5 Senate Asst. Major Leaders - Chicago area
Majority Caucus Leader - Chicago
1 of 2 Majority Appropriations Chairs - Chicago (The other is from Quincy)
All 4 Majority Whips - Chicago area
- All Democrats

Senate Minority Leader - Chicago Area
Deputy Leader - Mattoon!!!  (Dale Righter)
2 of 4 Asst. Leaders from northern Illinois, 1 from Mt. Vernon and 1 from Okawville!!!  (John O. Jones, and David Luechtefeld)
Caucus Chair - Rockford
Caucus Whip - Chicago Area
- All Republicans

So, out of all the Illinois Senate leadership positions, only 4 (1 D and 3 R) are from downstate Illinois.  You cannot tell me that our interests downstate are being equally represented in the Illinois Senate.  Later this week, we'll take a look at the Illinois House....
